Mihalis Lazaridis
He was born in Drama in 1967.
He studied Physics (BSc) in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1984 – 1988) and he received his Master (1991) and PhD (1993) in atmospheric science from the University of Helsinki, Finland, Faculty of Science. He worked previously at the Universities of Rutgers and Harvard in USA, at the University and Technical University of Helsinki in Finland, at the Norwegian Institute of Air Research in Norway and at the Joint Research Centre of the European Union at Ispra, Italy. He was research fellow of the European Union, Ministries of Education of Greece, Finland and Norway and from the Russian Academy of Science.
He is professor in the Technical University of Crete from 2001 and dean in the School of Environmental Engineering (2017 – 2020).
He received the first lessons of painting from Petros Xenakis at Chania. After he worked with Dimitris Andreadakis and Stelios Petroulakis at the Architectural School of the Technical University of Crete. He also followed from 2012 – 2018 the lessons of visual arts at the Architectural School of the Technical University of Crete. He performed his first solo exhibition in the Mylonogiannis’ gallery at Chania in 2019 (exhibition catalogue).
